Is your 4-H Pre-Teen or Teen looking for a job this spring but not sure where to start? Many families in local communities are looking for after-school or weekend babysitters for their children. Jump-start their opportunity to serve as a babysitter with attending the January Black Hawk County 4-H Workshop: The Buzz on Babysitting.
This workshop is for current 6th-10th grade 4-H youth in Black Hawk County. Workshop attendees will begin to learn and gain the skills and resources needed to serve as a trustworthy, safe caregiver.
Members attending the workshop will have the opportunity to build a network of peers with similar interests while learning the basics about child development and child safety. Join us as we practice babysitting fun such as creating Kinetic Sand and making a healthy, fun snack.
Participants will leave the workshop with tools for their next babysitting experience, knowledge of fire safety and how to handle emergency scenarios, and a folder with information to reflect upon.
Registration is required and participation is limited to the first 20 registrants. To register, contact Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-234-6811.
