A conference room wall in the Black Hawk County Extension Office now serves as a gallery for the photography interests of Black Hawk County 4-H Members. From the State’s Capital to fun on the farm, it’s not hard to see that the interests of our 4-H members holds incredible breadth and depth.
The photographs displayed were 2016 Black Hawk County Fair award winners and were selected to be judged at the Iowa State Fair in August.
The Photography project area is designed to help 4-H’ers of all ages and experiences to explore the world of hobby and professional photography. Members learn about cameras and equipment while practicing taking unique photographs that tell a story.
Within the 4-H program, photography is viewed as an art and a valuable tool for communication. What stories do you see in these 4-H Photos?
In April, these photographs will become silent auction items at the Annual Omelet Breakfast held at the UAW Hall in Waterloo, Iowa. Proceeds will be utilized by the Black Hawk County 4-H Program.
