Black Hawk County 4-H’s County Council held their monthly meeting on January 15th at the Black Hawk County Extension Office. Twelve members shared their time and experiences with a pre-meeting icebreaker activity. During the icebreaker, members began to plan their Service Learning Project.
Members brainstormed many ideas including creating family care packages to sharing time with nursing home residents. At the end of the session, members decided to reach out to the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa City. Plans for the service project will be finalized at the meeting in February.
Other agenda items included a fundraising update, reminder to members to purchase their County Council T-Shirts, and Program Updates about meeting attendance and required volunteering efforts. Additionally, a 2017 Black Hawk County 4-H and FFA Fair theme was chosen (keep an eye on Black Hawk County 4-H’s Facebook page for the big reveal!).
At the conclusion of the meeting, several members met at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo for bowling. The next County Council Meeting will be February 19th at 2 PM.
